Before getting too deep in the nitty-gritty of what this blog aims to achieve, lets begin with who I am. I will admit I am no literary professional nor a strict surgeon of words, and will I never claim to be. I’m currently enrolled in my final year of university, majoring in English and Ancient history, and going through the same sleep-deprived stagger to the educational finish line like most of my fellow students. This blog is made through a passion of reading and story-telling that has always been in me for as long as I can remember. For this reason, the reviews and posts on this site will be told with a more personal voice, as I simply want to voice my opinions to you all in the same way friends recommend books to one another.
In terms of what type of books will be reviewed here, I can tell you with complete honesty that I have no set plan for that, since genres are not the main focus of my decision making. The reviews will often have a strong tendency to drift more towards to the Sci-fi and Fantasy category, since those are the books I seek out actively. At the time of this post, I have fallen down the never-ending pit that is known as Star Wars media, and am slowly carving into the countless novels of canon and non-canon stories, so expect a few of those books to pop up every so often.
As with the genre flexibility, the books I review here will consist of both famous books by well-known award winners, but also I really want to find new authors and put their talent in the spotlight. So, whether it is a book you have read countless times in your life, or a book fresh off the press, do not hesitate to make your suggestions on what books you want to see here, and I personally keep a master list of all recommendations that come through!
My goal is to keep to a schedule of 1 book review per week, with a bunch of other posts mixed in as well. However, as I am one person, unexpected things can and will come up and this schedule may be altered, but I will do what I can to make sure I am well prepared for such times. If the weekly review should be unachievable, an update post will be made on its behalf and will explain when the review will be posted.
